If you’re traveling from Sun City, AZ to Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, you have several options. As a travel advisor who travels frequently, I’ve tried them all! Here’s a breakdown of what works best, plus insider tips to make your journey easier.

📝 Transportation Options

💠 Uber / Rideshare

💠 Taxi

💠 Friend Ride

💠 Shuttle / Transfer Service

💠 Park at Airport

😎 My Personal Approach

As someone who advises on travel and travels often, here’s what works for me:

🌟 Most Expensive but Stress-Free: Parking at the Airport

I often use The Parking Spot 2 when traveling with a companion likes driving to the airport. I like this option the best because I can:

✔ Pre-load bags the night before

✔ Stay on your own schedule and leave when we want

✔ Options for Covered and Non-Covered Parking

✔ Fastest Drop off from Lot to Airport Curbside (Airport Lots require walking/trams/buses)

✔ Fast pickup from Airport Curb to Lot

✔ Lots are secure, and efficient in/out of

🎯 When Traveling Solo

I usually opt for Uber or a licensed shuttle service.

✔ Airport Parking Onsite/Offsite isn't comfortable for my safety when I am solo.

✔ Avoid taxis (too expensive may as well get private or shuttle)

✔ Skip Asking Friends (I want to keep my Friends! Its too Far, Too Stressful of an ask)

✔ I’m not a fan of driving during rush hour or late nights—Uber or shuttle keeps it simple

😎 Pro Tips for Each Option

Uber / Rideshare

  • Sign up for your Credit Card with Uber Credits (such American Express Platinum) and upgraded Uber status

  • Pre-schedule your pickup

  • Choose drivers with high ratings and newer cars for comfort and safety

Friend Rides

  • Have them wait in the cell phone lot

  • Offer gas money ($15–$25)

  • Avoid “someone’s guy” for transfers—many are not licensed or insured

Shuttles / Transfers

  • Use licensed and insured services

  • Shared shuttles = lower cost but less convenience

  • Look for providers near your neighborhood for reliability, lower cost

Recommended: To My Surprise Shuttle – locally owned, reliable

Private Transfers

  • Most stress-free (and most expensive!)

  • Private car and driver for door-to-door service

  • Nothing beats starting a trip white glove while you sip champagne!

🚗 Airport Parking

  • Choose providers with strong security

  • Check for AAA/AARP discounts and promo codes

  • Book early—prices rise closer to travel dates
